We have a very exciting announcement here at Loh Ophthalmology Associates!
Dr. Diana Shechtman, OD officially joined our doctor team and we are so happy to have her. Dr. Shechtman’s incredible background and training is all here on her bio page but her reputation precedes her. Having worked with many ophthalmology practices in marketing and physician relations, Dr. Shechtman is a wealth of knowledge and a wonderful networker who we know will help the Loh team connect even more with the Miami eyecare community. Dr. Shechtman attended the University of Florida, was a full-time professor for 18 years at Nova Southeastern University and is an active board member for Women in Eyecare (WIE) and Latinos en Optometry (LEO). As a consultative optometrist, Dr. Shechtman practices full scope medical optometry. She also served as an adjunct professor for a number of colleges of optometry, through her participation in externship educational programs.
Dr. Shechtman has joined us at Loh Ophthalmology Associates as a comprehensive optometrist who treats many conditions of the eye, but she has a special interest in retina and diabetic exams. She has a wonderful way with her patients, and we feel lucky to have her as part of our team. She will begin seeing patients on January 1, 2024!
Dr. Shechtman lives with her husband, Leon Shechtman, who is from Illinois originally and is the managing partner of NMB Eye Center. They are the proud parents of Ashley and Kyle Shechtman.
When she’s not in clinic or lecturing, Dr. Shechtman loves to stay active and enjoys competitive workouts, biking and running on the beach. Dr Shechtman has always taken her work personally and teaches what she practices. Her biggest rewards have been educating the profession and she constantly reminds the next generation of eye care physician to always do right by the patient!
