This week, we had a big announcement happen here at Loh Ophthalmology Associates!
Dr. Michael Venincasa, MD joined our physician and surgeon team and we are so happy to have him. Dr. Venincasa has a great background and training you can find out more about on his bio page. He is a native Floridian who moved to Miami and attended the University of Miami. Dr. Venincasa also completed medical school at UM and went on to complete his residency training in ophthalmology at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
Dr. Venincasa has joined us at Loh Ophthalmology Associates as a comprehensive ophthalmologist who treats many conditions of the eye, but he has a special interest in cataract surgery and refractive cataract/premium lens replacement surgery, using cutting-edge technology to give his patients their best possible vision. He also treats diseases of the ocular surface—including dry eye syndrome, pterygium, as well as general eye care including the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, diabetic eye exams, and routine eye exams. He has a wonderful way with patients and a fantastic bedside manner, so we feel lucky to have him as part of our team.
Dr. Venincasa lives with his lovely wife, Emilie who is from Miami originally and is a pharmacist and travel enthusiast, and with his adorable Australian Shepherd, Troy. He loves cooking, specifically Cuban food (ask him about tostadas and cafecitos) and he loves to run as well, having completed the Miami Half-Marathon.
